2nd December - Joy, Orbit, Gloom, Crisps and Birds

Joy means delight.
Delight means gladness.
Which some would argue,
Is the opposite of sadness.

Being sad is gloomy,
Which of course means dim.
And a big bright glow,
Is a perfect antonym.

A glow can shine,
And a shine can gloss,
Of which another interpretation,
Is to spin the goss.

To spin can mean to turn,
Rotate or loop,
In the way a planet orbits,
In a giant hula hoop.

A hula hoop is a crisp,
And a crisp has crunch,
And when you have them,
You chomp and munch.

To munch means to masticate,
No, that’s not rude.
It’s the normal kind of thing,
You always do with your food.

A classy word for food,
Is a French one – cuisine,
Which actually means cookery,
Yeah, that’s what I mean.

To cook can mean to bake,
Boil, fry, grill or roast,
And the latter is the one
That I love the most.

To Roast a nice big bird,
With all the festive trims,
brings me right back round to joy,
My all time favourite thing.
